Stress Rescue

Practical Tools for Resilience, Clarity & Focus

A Five-Part Stress Management & Resilience Program for Organizations

Stress affects more than how people feel. It influences concentration, communication, decision-making, adaptability, and the ability to respond effectively when demands are high.

Stress Rescue is an experiential, in-person program that gives participants practical tools for working with stress while developing greater resilience, clarity, adaptability, and personal agency.

Across five 90-minute to two-hour classes, participants explore the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual dimensions of stress while learning techniques they can apply in their work and everyday lives.

Rather than focusing only on relaxation or coping, Stress Rescue progressively helps participants develop a greater capacity to meet pressure without losing clarity, energy, or direction.

Five in-person classes delivered over 5 or 10 weeks.

Is Stress Rescue Right for Your Organization?

Stress is an inevitable part of work and life. The question is whether people have effective ways to work with it.

Stress Rescue is designed for organizations that want to provide employees with more than information about stress or a temporary wellness experience. Participants develop a range of practical techniques and have the opportunity to apply what they learn between classes.

Your organization may benefit from Stress Rescue if:

Employees are navigating sustained pressure, high workloads, or significant change.

Stress is contributing to difficulty focusing, emotional fatigue, or increased reactivity.

Your team would benefit from practical tools they can use when stress is actually happening.

You want wellness programming that develops skills over time rather than offering a single event.

Resilience, adaptability, and effective problem solving are important to the work your employees do.

Your organization values a whole-person approach to employee well-being.

You want to support people in navigating demanding circumstances with greater clarity and choice.

Stress Rescue increases people's capacity to meet pressure well.

More Than Learning How to Relax

Relaxation is important, and Stress Rescue teaches techniques that help participants regulate and reduce stress.

But the program goes further.

Across five classes, participants explore how stress operates physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. They learn different approaches for regulating stress, adapting to circumstances, solving problems, developing resilience, and reconnecting with purpose.

The progression moves from understanding and regulating stress toward greater agency and problem solving, and ultimately toward resilience, purpose, and constructive action.

Participants aren’t simply given one method and told to use it more often. They develop a repertoire of tools and greater awareness of how and when to use them.

Practical Regulation

Breathing, relaxation, meditation, movement, and other practices provide participants with ways to reduce stress activation and restore greater steadiness.

Greater Agency

Participants explore control and adaptation, helping them recognize where they have influence, where adaptation may be necessary, and how they can respond more intentionally.

Expanded Problem-Solving Capacity

The program works with both rational problem solving and intuitive and creative approaches, helping participants access a broader range of internal resources when facing challenges.

Whole-Person Resilience

Stress Rescue recognizes that stress does not exist exclusively in the mind, and works with practices that address every dimension of a person, not only the psychological one.

Meaning & Purpose

The later stages of the program move beyond immediate stress management to explore acceptance, resilience, energy, purpose, and constructive forward movement.

What Participants Develop

Five Classes. A Progressive Approach to Stress.

Each Stress Rescue class is 90 minutes to two hours and builds upon the work that comes before it.

Organizations can choose a 5-week format, meeting weekly, or a 10-week format, meeting every other week.

Class 1 — Understanding & Regulating Stress

Participants begin by exploring what stress is and developing greater awareness of their own experience of it.

The class introduces journaling alongside practical techniques for endorphin release, relaxation, and meditation.

Participants begin developing foundational ways to interrupt stress and return to greater calm and awareness.

Focus: Understanding stress, awareness, relaxation and regulation

Class 2 — The Physical & Emotional Dimensions of Stress

The second class explores the physical and emotional aspects of stress and introduces additional techniques for working directly with the stress response.

Participants learn deep breathing designed to stimulate the vagus nerve and explore control and adaptation, journaling, and affirmations.

The emphasis begins to move from simply experiencing stress toward recognizing how we can work with our response to it.

Focus: Physical regulation, emotional awareness, adaptation and agency

Class 3 — Mental Clarity & Problem Solving

Participants explore the mental and spiritual dimensions of stress and how stress can affect perception, thinking, and our ability to respond effectively.

The class introduces both rational problem solving and intuitive and creative problem solving, alongside reflective journaling.

Participants learn to approach challenges through more than one mode of thinking, increasing the resources available to them when circumstances are difficult or uncertain.

Focus: Mental clarity, perspective, problem solving, intuition and creativity

Class 4 — Acceptance, Energy & Resilience

The fourth class explores entropic stress and turns toward developing greater internal resources.

Participants work with love and acceptance, journaling, practices for cultivating greater energy, resilience and light, and a Chi exercise.

The emphasis shifts from simply managing stressful circumstances toward strengthening the person's capacity to remain resourced while navigating them.

Focus: Acceptance, resilience, restoration and internal resources

Class 5 — Purpose, Integration & Forward Movement

The final class brings the work together.

Participants review what they have learned, explore pursuing purpose, engage in reflective journaling, and work with the Begin Small technique and an integration exercise.

The emphasis is on translating greater clarity and resilience into purposeful, manageable action.

Participants leave not only with techniques for reducing stress, but with a broader framework for responding to challenge and moving forward.

Focus: Integration, purpose and sustainable action

From Regulation to Purpose

The five classes are intentionally progressive.

Understand → Regulate → Adapt → Respond → Build Resilience → Move Forward

Stress can narrow attention, consume internal resources, and make people feel as though circumstances are simply happening to them.

The Stress Rescue process works in the opposite direction.

Participants first develop awareness and tools for regulation. From there, they explore adaptation, choice, and different approaches to problem solving. Later classes develop resilience and internal resources before bringing the work toward purpose and constructive action.

Regulation creates space. Space creates greater possibility for choice. And greater choice changes how we meet challenge.

Choose the Pace That Works for Your Organization:

5-Week Series

One class each week. Best for organizations looking for a concentrated experience and continuity between classes.

10-Week Series

One class every other week. Provides additional time for participants to practice and apply techniques between classes.

Both formats include the complete five-class Stress Rescue curriculum.

Why a Series Instead of a Single Workshop?

A workshop can introduce valuable information and techniques. Developing new responses to stress takes practice.

The 5- or 10-week structure gives participants an opportunity to learn a technique, apply it in their actual lives, and return for the next stage of the work.

Over the course of the program, participants encounter multiple ways of working with stress rather than depending on one approach.

For organizations, this creates a more substantial wellness initiative: one designed around learning, application, and integration over time.

Physical

Breathing, relaxation, movement, endorphin release, and physiological regulation.

Emotional

Awareness, acceptance, adaptation, and greater capacity for intentional response.

Mental

Rational problem solving, perspective, affirmations, and intentional thinking.

Spiritual & Purpose-Oriented

Intuition, creativity, energy, meaning, purpose, and connection to how one chooses to move through life.

A Whole-Person Approach to Stress

Stress does not affect just one part of a person.

It can influence the body, emotions, thinking, energy, relationships, creativity, and connection to meaning and purpose.

Stress Rescue therefore integrates practical stress-management and self-regulation techniques with meditation, reflection, problem solving, and time-tested practices for working with energy and awareness.

Participants do not need previous experience with meditation, energy work, or spiritual practices. The material is taught experientially, with an emphasis on practical application.

Greater steadiness under pressure

Practical techniques employees can draw upon during demanding situations.

Focus and clarity

Tools for returning attention to what requires it when stress has disrupted concentration.

Greater adaptability

Learning to distinguish between what can be influenced, what requires adaptation, and how to move forward constructively.

More intentional responses

Creating greater space between stress activation and action.

Expanded problem solving

Developing both rational and intuitive/creative approaches to challenges.

Individual well-being

Providing resources that employees can use both professionally and personally.

Sustainable resilience

Strengthening people's internal resources for meeting ongoing demands.

What This Can Support in the Workplace

Stress Rescue gives people greater internal capacity and more effective tools for navigating the stress they encounter, without attempting to eliminate organizational sources of stress or substitute for healthy workplace practices.

Who Is Stress Rescue For?

Stress Rescue can be particularly valuable for organizations and teams working in environments where sustained attention, emotional steadiness, adaptability, and effective decision-making matter.

Potential settings include:

Healthcare and helping professions

Corporate and professional services

Leadership teams

Nonprofit and mission-driven organizations

High-growth companies

Organizations navigating change or transition

Teams experiencing periods of unusually high demand

The program can be offered to an existing team or as part of a broader organization-wide employee wellness initiative.

Ongoing Meditation Classes

Regular guided meditation gives employees an opportunity to continue practicing stress reduction, grounding, and focused awareness after completing the program.

Meditation classes can be scheduled weekly, biweekly, monthly, or according to the needs of the organization.

Available in person or virtually.

Executive Reset Intensives

The people carrying the greatest levels of organizational responsibility may require a different level of support.

Executive Reset provides concentrated, individualized work for executives, founders, and senior leaders experiencing significant pressure or accumulated stress.

The intensive is designed to support greater clarity, personal alignment, resilience, and leadership effectiveness.

Available as an additional executive-level offering.

Ongoing Coaching

Individual coaching provides longer-term support for leaders and professionals who want to continue developing greater self-awareness, resilience, clarity, and intentionality in how they work and lead.

Coaching can complement the organization-wide Stress Rescue program by providing individualized support where it will have the greatest value.

Most people already know that stress affects them.

What can they do when stress is actually happening?

Across five progressive classes, Stress Rescue gives participants multiple ways to answer that question.

They learn to regulate stress, work more effectively with their responses, approach problems from different perspectives, develop greater resilience, and reconnect their choices with purpose.

Not simply stress reduction. Greater capacity under stress.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Stress Rescue?

Stress Rescue is a five-part, in-person stress management and resilience program for organizations. Across the series, participants explore the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual dimensions of stress while learning practical tools for regulation, adaptation, problem solving, resilience, and purposeful action.

Each class builds on the one before it, giving participants the opportunity to practice what they learn and develop a broader capacity to respond effectively under pressure.

How is Stress Rescue different from a one-time stress management workshop?

A single workshop can introduce useful information and techniques. Stress Rescue is designed as a progressive learning experience.

Participants begin with understanding and regulating stress, then move into physical and emotional regulation, adaptation, rational and creative problem solving, resilience, acceptance, purpose, and integration.

The series allows participants to apply techniques between classes and gradually build a range of skills they can draw on in different situations.

What outcomes can our organization expect?

Stress Rescue is designed to strengthen participants' ability to recognize and work with stress more effectively.

Participants develop practical tools for regulation, grounding, adaptability, intentional response, problem solving, and resilience, as well as greater awareness of their own stress patterns and responses.

The program does not promise specific reductions in healthcare costs, absenteeism, or organizational stressors. Its focus is on developing practical capacities employees can apply when stress occurs.

How is the impact of the program measured?

Organizations may choose to include brief anonymous pre- and post-program assessments.

These can measure areas such as participants' confidence managing stress, ability to regulate themselves in challenging situations, ability to regain focus, perceived adaptability, use of the tools, and overall program experience.

Results can be provided to the organization in aggregate so that individual participant responses remain private.

Does Stress Rescue involve religion or require a particular spiritual belief?

No particular religious or spiritual belief is required to participate. Stress Rescue takes a whole-person approach and includes exploration of the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual dimensions of stress. Some practices draw from meditation, energy awareness, and longstanding contemplative approaches.

These practices are presented as experiential tools rather than beliefs participants are expected to adopt. Participants are encouraged to engage with the material in a way that is appropriate for them.

Is Stress Rescue psychotherapy or mental health treatment?

No. Stress Rescue is an educational wellness and personal-development program.

It is not psychotherapy, medical treatment, diagnosis, or crisis intervention and is not intended to replace an employee's existing medical, psychological, or Employee Assistance Program support.

Will employees be asked to share personal information?

No personal disclosure is required.

Some classes include journaling and reflective exercises, but these are intended for the participant's own use. Participants decide what, if anything, they wish to share during discussion.

Personal journal entries are not collected or provided to the organization.

Is participation in every exercise required?

Participants are encouraged to explore the practices offered while exercising their own judgment about what is appropriate for them. Exercises can be adapted when needed, and participants are not required to disclose personal information in order to participate in the program.

Can the program accommodate employees with disabilities or physical limitations?

Stress Rescue includes breathing, meditation, reflection, journaling, and light experiential practices.

We work with the organization in advance to understand accessibility needs and make reasonable adaptations wherever possible.

How much time does the program require?

Stress Rescue includes five in-person classes, each approximately 90 minutes to two hours long. Organizations can choose between two formats:

5-Week Series: One class each week, providing greater continuity and momentum.

10-Week Series: One class every other week, allowing more time for participants to practice and apply the techniques between classes.

1 Day Intensive Option: A one-day intensive format is available for organizations that need a more condensed delivery. The 5- or 10-week series is recommended whenever possible, as the time between classes allows participants to practice the techniques, discover how they work in real situations, bring experience-based questions back to the group, and more fully integrate the material.

Each format includes the complete Stress Rescue curriculum.

Can Stress Rescue be offered virtually?

The five core Stress Rescue classes are delivered in person.

Organizations may add ongoing meditation classes and follow-up or integration sessions that can be provided either in person or virtually. Ongoing coaching may also be offered virtually or in person.

What does our organization need to provide?

We work with one organizational contact to coordinate scheduling, participant communication, and logistical needs.

The organization provides an appropriate and accessible space for the classes and protected time for participating employees to attend. Additional logistical requirements are discussed during the planning process.

What group size works best?

Stress Rescue is designed to be interactive and experiential, so group size is considered when planning the program.

The appropriate size depends on the organization's goals, available space, and the level of interaction desired. For larger organizations, multiple cohorts may be recommended so participants can engage fully with the material.

Can the program be customized for our organization?

The core Stress Rescue curriculum remains consistent, but the delivery can be adapted to the needs and context of the organization.

During the initial consultation, we can discuss your workforce, current challenges, scheduling needs, and whether there are particular areas of emphasis that would make the program especially relevant to your employees.

Does Stress Rescue address organizational causes of stress?

Stress Rescue is designed to strengthen people's ability to navigate stress. It is not intended to replace organizational efforts to address workload, staffing, workplace culture, management practices, or other systemic sources of employee stress.

The program works best as part of a broader commitment to employee well-being and healthy organizational practices.

Can we continue supporting employees after the five classes?

Yes. Organizations can extend the work through:

Ongoing Meditation Classes: Regular guided meditation to reinforce regulation, grounding, and focused awareness. Available in person or virtually.

Follow-Up and Integration Sessions: Additional sessions to revisit the tools, support continued practice, and address questions that emerge after the program. Available in person or virtually.

Executive Reset Intensives: More individualized support for executives, founders, and senior leaders carrying significant levels of responsibility and pressure.

Ongoing Coaching: Individual support for leaders and professionals who want to continue developing resilience, clarity, self-awareness, and intentional leadership.

What is the investment?

Program investment varies depending on factors such as group size, location, number of cohorts, and any additional support selected.

We begin with a brief organizational consultation to understand your needs and then provide a clear proposal for the program.
